Mario Can't!!!! December 31, 2008 0 out of 9 found this review helpful
Having played this game since Christmas I have to say it is the worst game ever written for the Wii!! The wheel is simply a waste of time (after you have struggled removing the controller jacket to put it on),you might as well just hold the controller in your hand. That brings me to the awful unresponsive gameplay. The Karts drift all over and you get no feeling of being in control. All in all a complete waste of money.
Superb December 30, 2008 Great game play, cool graphics, no ends to the amount of fun you can have, and you can even connect with wifi to compete against people all over the world.
Great fun, for all the family not just the kids, a definite time pleaser for those kids who are hard to entertain.
This is not a game.. This is a Revolution!! December 29, 2008 Great Looks, smooth gameplay, abundance of fun, but most of all - a revlutionary online gaming experience!
I know of no other game which could appeal to casual and serious gamers alike, while providing an online experience that invites gamers of all levels to play effortlessley - keeping them coming back for more!
The single player mode has a variety of game types, Grand Prix, Battle, Time trial etc. There are numerous courses and characters (which increases as you progress through single player mode and unlock more circuits, characters and vehicles)giving the game great depth.
Offline you can play with up to four other people, but with up to 12 players going for glory - online is where the real fun is to be had!
Create a room to play exclusively with friends and family, or join a continental or worldwide race/battle. Both methods offer hours of fun, which unlike many other games, doesn't seem to get old!
A refreshing quality about this game is that whether beginner or advanced, the depth of the game means both can compete while offering great scope for advanced players to discover more. The character/kart balance as well as in race weapons means a straggler can always find their way back into the race, and being advanced and having the better kart doesnt mean your safe from being pulled from 1st place into the pack - creating a fun and frenzied gaming experience.
Controlling with one of the numerous configurations is easy and makes good use of the Wii remote. The Wii wheel is not necessary and its totally a matter of preference as to what configuration is used.
All in all, this game is an essential Wii title, suitable for all, hours of fun, and the latest way to keep in touch with family and friends ;)
Addictive fun! December 28, 2008 What's to say that hasn't already been said? I am a strong believer in the user reviews and find them helpful and insightful. This game is superb for all ages. It offers fun in a box with the wheel thrown in (though you will want to buy more wheels if you are in multi-player mode).
Being able to race people from all around the world is superb fun, however, this comes with one word of advice....when you start racing globally against 'Raceking' and 'Speed Freak' etc, you may want to think again about the name for your own Mii (mine was Daddy!!)
Wii Must have December 27, 2008 Whether you are racing your granny or someone on the other side of the world this is brilliant fun. If you've got a Wii you've got to get Mario Kart Wii
